New show: Long live Maastricht! is a joyful tribute to Maestro's hometown, where it all began. 20 years ago André Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra performed for the first time at the Vrijthof. The medieval square then turned into a gleaming open-air ballroom. The audience listened to the first concert of its kind, all under the summer sky, strewn with twinkling stars. The success was incredible, especially since the whole thing was rebroadcast to cinemas. Now the waltz “On the beautiful blue Danube” and “Radetzky's March” will sound to audiences around the world for the twentieth time. “I am very excited about this jubilee. It is fantastic that this concert will also be seen in cinemas around the world, including Poland, and already in autumn. I am sure he will please you as much as me and my orchestra. Long live Maastricht!” For Polish viewers, the retransmission will be conducted as usual by Maja Jasińska, who is not only a flute player in the Johann Strauss Orchestra, but also an incomparable ambassador of the whole project. Thanks to her, we will look behind the scenes and listen to an interview with André Rieu, conducted by her exclusively for Polish moviegoers. Duration: about 3 hours and 5 minutes (including one break)
