In just a few years, London-born musician and poet Arlo Parks has cemented his position as one of the most distinctive voices on the British indie scene.

With a sound that fuses the modern sensibility of indie pop with the warmth and tenderness of folk, she creates songs that feel like small, vivid dramas of everyday life's most intimate moments.

Since his critically acclaimed 2021 debut album Collapsed in Sunbeams, Arlo Parks has become known for his striking honesty and his ability to capture the fragile and recognisable.

In her songs, she explores her most intimate experiences with a gentle, present vocal and organic productions that give way to the words.

The music often revolves around mental health, identity and relationships, with the 2020 single “Black Dog” being written for a close friend who she feared was developing a depression.

The 2023 follow-up My Soft Machine album featured an artist in continuing development, where with singles such as “Weightless”, “Impurities”, “Blades” and “Pegasus” (feat. Phoebe Bridgers) unfolds a more mature and nuanced universe in which love, vulnerability and self-understanding merge.

She pushes once again to the limits of her artistic expression with “Heaven” - the latest single from her upcoming third album Ambiguous Desire, which is due out April 3. Where she has previously been known for her quiet, poetic fervour, she now opens the door to a darker and more vibrant universe that dares to challenge both the listener and the artist herself.
