Author Sophie Kallehauge has written the book Spring Mind based on her own experiences as the daughter of a father with bipolar disorder. Whenever her father was manic, Sophie experienced both worries and anxiety. But the turmoil didn't necessarily go away when the mania did. In the intervening periods, too, the anxiety of it happening again could create distance between father and daughter. Today it is several years since Sophie's father Bent was last manic. Together they have worked to create a greater understanding of each other's experiences and rebuild their relationship. Come and hear what steps have been crucial to rebuilding trust and creating a new father-daughter relationship.
