Are we, after all, better than our reputation? Psychology professor Svend Brinkmann casts a critical and loving look at us humans and blows in defense of humanism.
We humans come in many forms and with many facets. We have created the world's biggest problems — such as war, climate crisis, poverty, insecurity and polarized societies. But it is also us humans who can solve the problems -- together -- rather than separately.
With his new book 'Like everyone else, like some others, like no one else — Handbook in humanism', Svend Brinkmann delivers a passionate defence of humanism. He argues that we need trust in each other and need to take responsibility for the communities we are part of.
Meet psychology professor Svend Brinkmann when he visits Koncertsalen this evening. Hear his thoughts on formation and mastery, on dignity and the irreplaceable, and on why he thinks that we humans — after all — are better than our reputation.
