AUDIODISKUSIA KOSMOS

Led by: Jędrzej Siwek

You can't hear music in space. This physical limitation has fueled the imagination of artists for centuries, who translate the vastness and mystery of the universe into the language of music. Some of them even claimed that they themselves came from distant planets of the solar system...

During the next meeting we will look at cosmic inspirations, Afrofuturism, sonoristic experiments and sonification of electromagnetic waves.

The program includes: Sun Ra, NASA “tapes”, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, John Coltrane, Krzysztof Penderecki, William Basinski and others.

Your participation:

We invite you to actively participate in the Audiodiscus. We are waiting for your musical submissions (songs, activities, perfo) that go beyond planet Earth. We accept applications by email: biurodzwieku@gmail.com

Organizational information

As part of the Audiodiscus, we create a relaxed atmosphere and space for a common conversation, so we encourage you to speak up and share your perspective. We are very interested in your opinions and recommendations! However, if you prefer to just soak up the music and listen to what others have to say — you are also welcome here.

We meet in the space of the Sound Office, at the setting sun over Katowice, passing into the autumn evening. We talk naturally, without the use of microphones, sitting on comfortable poufs or lying on the carpet. Music played from vinyl records and digital files. We make sure that its volume is comfortable and allows you to fully relax.

Additional information: During the meeting, photos will be taken for promotional purposes of the event.

The event was co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
