Nigerian rapper Aunty Rayzor is back on ALICE with hard-hitting beats, razor-sharp flows and a frenzied energy that rips the audience along. With rap in both English and Yoruba and an inexorable vocal, she has marked herself as one of the most hyped new voices on Nigeria's hip hop scene and as an inevitable part of the Nyege Nyege Tapes.
“One of Nigeria's most ruthless emerging artists with hooks that pierce deep into your flesh” — The Quietus
Aunty Rayzor has her roots in church singing and the rap battles of the underground and got her big break with the number “Kuku Corona” which became an anthem in Nigeria during the pandemic. Her 2023 debut album “Viral Wreckage” appeared on Nyege Nyege Tapes' label Hakuna Kulala and was met with international acclaim. Resident Advisor has called her “a serious performer ready for world domination” and highlighted her uncompromising flow and irresistibly danceable rhythms that blend afrobeat, hip-hop and dancehall in an immersive expression.
Despite her young age, Aunty Rayzor has already taken on major stages worldwide, from Roskilde Festival, Rewire and Couleur Café to Paleo Festival and Danube Festival. She is known as a formidable live performer with a versatile vocal expression, strong charisma and a fearless presence on stage. Collaborations with producers such as Debmaster and Rey Sapienz have also helped shape her hard-hitting sound. Aunty Rayzor tore the audience around during a sold-out show during ALICE's opening week at Nørre Allé in 2024. Now she fearlessly returns to ALICE in November for a sweat-dripping evening, current with new material.
