{Background Check} #13 — Meeting with Studio Otamto

{Background Check} is an informal, intimate meeting around architecture — guest lecture+short Q&A and conversation. We invite studios outside the mainstream. We are interested in bold voices and topics less frequently present in industry discourse.

The focus of our meetings is to design in the context of contemporary challenges: shrinking planetary resources, the carbon footprint of the construction industry and its impact on the climate catastrophe. We wonder if it is possible to build in another, less harmful, way.

On October 15, representatives of Studio Otamto, an architectural firm founded by Emilia Herman and Peter Youthed in 2017, will tell about their work.

The meeting will not be recorded or broadcast, because we want to have a frank conversation and be heard.
