Let us oppose the demolition of modernism! — lecture by Paweł Górny
Modernist architecture, especially the interwar period, is still underestimated in Bydgoszcz. It lacks ornaments or details, and the role is played by form and geometry. Unfortunately, not everyone sees art here, so modernism is easily written off at a loss with new investments. At the meeting we will take a photographic walk around Bydgoszcz in the footsteps of lost and endangered modernist buildings.
Paweł Górny — a graduate of postgraduate studies City Management and Urban Policy at the Warsaw School of Economics and the National School of Public Administration. He has experience in public consultation processes, is a member of the Council for Social Participation under the Mayor of the City of Bydgoszcz and the Council of Public Benefit Activities of the City of Bydgoszcz. He is the founder and chairman of the association Bydgoski Ruch Miejski (initially as the Social Pedestrian Advocate Association in Bydgoszcz), which deals with the issues of road safety and the quality of urban public spaces.
