Do not miss a spicy conversation about the electric meeting of sports, body and sex in literature!

About the event

Why do so many of the books of the time sneak into the sport's locker rooms? Why do we have to hear about brutal tackles and hard serves when we read about pounding hearts and excited lust? And what is it about the combination of body, struggle and love that turns on writers and readers of everything from romance to poetry?

Join the conversation about perhaps the most irresistible power couple in literature right now — sports and sex!

OpleVsportsRomance has been a huge phenomenon in recent years with passionate readers hungry for steamy chemistry, intense rivalry and happy endings. Just think of 'Heated Rivalry'. But now the sport has also found its way into the poetry.

In this edition of Behind the Books, the two tracks meet — finally!

Discover Johanne Bille, who is behind the popular romance 'Sparks on the Ice', and poet Maja Lucas, who wrote the critically acclaimed 'Tennis Poems', in a conversation about why books across genres revolve around competitions, sex and the body — sports and sex.

Together with romance expert Sarah von Essen, the authors investigate why sports, sex and language arts create such surprising hotness of an affair.

Join the conversationWe also hope the audience feels like mingling:

What sports romances have you guys fallen in love with? What sports poems or novels can you not forget? And why? Join the conversation and send your questions or thoughts to our literature facilitator Mathias. Of course, you can also bring your questions to the event and ask them.

Come and be as we dribble between genres and reading habits, tackle literary prejudices and play up a conversation about why sport and sex are perhaps the most irresistible pair in literature right now.
