A performance on the canvas of one of the most important works of Polish literature. A manifesto of Polish Romanticism from almost two hundred years ago, presented through the prism of the present, without pathos and fuss, but with distance, humor and irony. Feelings, intuition and faith as tools for learning about the world work amazingly well when interpreted in the context of mass culture. Lyricism, horror, supernatural phenomena and subtle eroticism — is it still Mickiewicz or pop culture? Or have we not changed so much? A kind of “time loop” can also be seen in costumes and music. Glamorous contus and gowns complement the contemporary touches, at the same time the conventionality of the scenography allows the viewer to appeal to their own imagination and indulge in theatrical fun. A variety of musical compositions with a modern sound, bravely performed by the actors arrange themselves into a real show. The aesthetics of the show, close to modern, young audiences, would probably appeal to the romantics themselves.
