Jazz Ballads in the Dark - Amelia & Smooth Jazz Trio

Jazz Ballads in the Dark” is a project, a concert by Amelia Chilevsky & Smooth Jazz Trio promoting the album of the same name.

The band's concert is an unusual combination of jazz and classics. This musical journey through well-known and beloved jazz ballads surprises with a new form and sublime sound, embellished with quotations and larger excerpts from timeless works of classical music. In this unique project, Vivaldi meets Kosma, Piazzola with Nahorny, Bach with Arlen, Chopin with Powell. The band's concerts take listeners into the world of relaxation, rest, detachment from the hustle and bustle of life. Played with minimal light, they allow listeners to fully indulge in emotionality and pleasure.

Amelia & Smooth Jazz Trio are a Tri-City band that was founded in 2022. So far, he has performed regularly in clubs in Gdańsk, Gdynia, Kołobrzeg and Iława and at the Chillout Classic 702 Festival. The band has recorded two albums: “Jazz Ballads In The Dark” and “Classic Meets Jazz Beethoven In Bossa Nova”.

The team consists of:

Amelia Chilewska - Gdynian singer, dancer, student of the Music Theater Studio, where she currently conducts classes for students. She collaborated with the Baltic String Quartet co-creating the musical and dance performance “Zapach Kobiety”. Since 2022, he has been singing with the Smooth Jazz Trio.

Igor Kisiel - jazz pianist, who has performed all over Europe with Riverboat Ramblers. In 1999 in Iława he won the Golden Grater and the Audience Award. In France, in Le Havre, at the Louis Armstrong Festival, he took second place twice. For many years he was the exclusive pianist of Celebrity Cruises and Princess Cruises.

Tomasz Diakun - violinist of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic. Leader of the Baltic String Quartet. Since 2008, he has been the originator and implementer of the idea of Chillout Classic concerts, from which the Chillout Classic Festival was created. Recently, he is a violinist of the Smooth Jazz Trio. He collaborated with, among others, Leszek Możdżer, Adam Sztaba, Tomek Szymus, Piotr Ulatowski, Mirosław Baka and Katarzyna Figura.

Dariusz Gutomski - double bass player of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic. He was the first bassist of the Gdańsk Double Bass Quartet. He collaborated with Paweł Nowak and Dorota Lulka on the Edith Piaf project. He also played with Klezmoret and Kabaret DKD. Together with Piotr Ulatowski, he recorded songs for Ernest Bryl's lyrics.
