BARDIC ASPHYXIATION

On a sultry day, we invite you to a unique evening of reflection and music dedicated to the late bards — creators who, with word and sound, were able to move the most tender strings of the human soul.

The Yanistan duo Janusz Kasprowicz and Stanisław Marinczenko will perform on the stage of the Białystok Nietater — artists known, among others, from the concert “Tribute to Leonard Cohen”. The musicians recall the memory of such artists as Włodzimierz Wysocki, Jacek Kaczmarski, Leonard Cohen, Agnieszka Osiecka or Karel Kryll. It will be a journey through poetic texts, reflective melodies and timeless messages that do not lose their relevance.

Janusz Kasprowicz — musician, composer, songwriter. He is the creator, leader, vocalist and bassist of the band Projekt Volodia, known, among others, for his daring arrangements of works by Włodzimierz Wysocki, joint concerts with Mirosław Baka, broadcast on the radio Trójka from the Agnieszka Osiecka studio and performances at important cultural events throughout the country, of which he has already played several hundred — from club halls to large auditoriums, theatres and philharmonies. Propagator, connoisseur and lover of Włodzimierz Wysocki's work, jury during festivals, originator and director of festivals: Włodzimierz Wysocki “Wołodia pod Szczelińcem”, Wrocław Festival “Singers of the Indomitable”, “Lviv Days in Wrocław” and artistic director of concerts, among others classical “Night of the Bards” during the Festival of Three Cultures in Włodawa.

Stanisław Marinczenko - “multidimensional” musician, multi-instrumentalist (guitars, piano, buzzards, accordion, mandolin, harp...) Actively involved in many musical genres, in addition to literary song you can hear his sounds in Irish kimatas.

The duo's concert deviates from the stylistics typical of the bard performance. The rich instrumentation, i.e. accordion, buzuki, mandolin and, of course, guitars, changed by the performers, incredibly diversifies the sound, which eliminates the monotony of the performance, especially during the virtuoso performances of the multi-instrumentalist.

“Bardowskie Zaduszki” is not only a concert — it is stories and an encounter with the spirit of creativity that remains alive despite the passage of time.

Quote from one of the reviews:

“... Kasprowicz and Marichenko enchant the viewer with their authentic commitment to the extraordinary transmission of artistic feelings and visions, reaching out to sources, sometimes forgotten, sometimes omitted. Kasprowicz enchants with his voice located somewhere between the colorful dullness of Vysotsky and the intellectual hoarseness of Waits, Marichenko enchants with instruments (guitar, mandolin, buzuki, accordion) documenting Western decadence with Eastern perfection of sound.
