The very long and slow crash of tram number 26

People take the tram. To work. Or from work. Or from work to work. Or they're just at work.

What if they don't get where they're going? A tram crash forces an unexpected pause that lasts surprisingly long.

Disciplined by the app, a food supplier (Filip Zaręba), desperately tries to catch up with his next assignment supported by a choir of bicycle sprockets. Designer Mariusz (Michał Jan Meller) fights a deadline to get another job and break out of the endless chain of “if”. Because if he gets it, he will achieve stabilization, and if he achieves it, he will be able to have a dog. A hypochondriac (Aleksandra Popławska) rushes to the unattended child... and to the pharmacy to save her loved ones from misfortune. A chick without a phone (Izabella Dudziak) is looking for a lost smartphone, but also a life that disappeared along with the corporate calendar. She is accompanied by a mysterious clown (Filip Zaręba) — a dealer, a clown and a philosopher all in one. He leads her through memories, misguided leads and makes uncomfortable discoveries, and she knows the rules of capitalism better than circus tricks. The entire journey is supervised by Motorniczy (Mirosław Zbrojewicz) — a narrator and guide who takes viewers through the passengers' stories, changing roles and perspectives.

Directed by Julia Nowak, the play is a multi-part narrative about work in an era of incessant productivity — its compulsion, pace, instability. About design, caring and emotional work, the precariousness of professional and reliable life (if any). There is surreal humor and ironic lightness in it, but also existential weight.
