Barcelona breathes life into the November darkness in VEGA

Barcelona has been a central part of the country map in Music-Denmark for ten years now.

Rud Aslak and Rasmus Theodor debuted with not one but two debut albums: Playkids and Hjertepalpitation and have since released music with an unmatched high frequency and almost constant touring activity.

Their fourth album, Armed Heart, was released in September 2023 and received a true star rating from reviewers, with the album described as both a “generational portrait”, “the band's best” to date and “most comprehensive album”.

Barcelona are back on the pitch. In 2026, they have founded their own record label, RReKord, and first release from there is the single “Fluctuations”, which on the release day February 20 was chosen as P3s Inevitable.

“Fluctuations” is likewise to be found on an upcoming album that sees the light of day in the fall of 2026. Rud Aslak and Rasmus Theodor have collaborated with the aspiring songwriter Karoline Funder, who sings duet on “The darkness falls in”, which will be released as a single in March 2026.

For the band's numerous concerts around the country's venues and festivals, Barselona has garnered rave reviews, with Soundvenue among others writing

“Rud Aslak was born to be the frontman of the biggest rock band of his generation.” and their well-attended concerts at Arena, Roskilde Festival and Hovedstadion on the Northside have been great, unifying highlights.

Live Barselona delivers a rock concert that embraces a wide range and includes most of it; from big choruses, bass-heavy beats, solos at speed, down to heartfelt piano ballads and community singing.
