Aspiring rapper by evening, dental student by day and with constant challenges at home, where his father has died shortly before. Lati has enough to see to! The studio is demanding, the rap environment is sexist and relentless, and at home the mother struggles with her father's African family, who will plan the funeral from a distance. But the meeting with the unapproachable ex-rapper Judy becomes a turning point.

'Beef' is an '8 Mile'-like story from the Barcelona suburbs that, with raw energy, fantastic acting and cool beats, plays its way straight into the heart. The images of the family's dark apartment, the grey concrete suburb and the studio where Judy hangs out effectively underpin the action. At the center of it all is the eminent protagonist Latifa Drame (also a rapper in real life), who, with her expressive face and pure presence, skillfully conveys all the conflicts in Lati's mind.
