The Wondrous Life of Benjamin Button

When Benjamin Button (Brad Pitt) is born in New Orleans around the end of World War I, he is a baby-sized olding. Then he gets younger and younger and ends his days as an Alzheimer's-afflicted infant! The film follows the unusual man, from “growing up” with a handsome black stepmother, until he goes to sea and ends up in a godforsaken Murmansk and then in a bizarre naval battle during World War II. As well as being a grand landscaped life chronicle, Fincher's film is a tragical/romantic melodrama about the relationship between Benjamin and his beloved Daisy (Cate Blanchett). They move in different directions in age terms, but get a short, happy time in the middle of life, when they are just old. The story of Benjamin and Daisy is told in flashbacks inserted into a touching frame story, in which the old, dying Daisy (in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina) tells her daughter about her love affair with Benjamin.
