Berlin layered

There is a lot to discover in the soil under Berlin. The deeper you dig, the older the finds. This is how it goes layer by layer back to the Stone Age, from the airplane part to the mammoth tusk! Pick out the most exciting finds from our display shelf and design your own “stratigraphy”, i.e. a layered model of the city under your feet, as a collage to take away.

And what goes at the top of your model? Our own time layer, i.e. places and things of today that archaeologists of the future will excavate. What could that be? Think and get creative!

This offer can be found at the top of the 5th floor and can be added at any time (up to 30 minutes before the end).

The drop-in workshop is for families with children aged 6 to 12 years.

Admission is free for children and young people up to 18 years of age. Adults pay admission: 6 euros/reduced 3 euros. Participation is free of charge for all visitors.
