Berlin-based saxophonist and composer Cassie Kinoshi is equally at home in contemporary classical music, jazz and improvisation. Our KHO trumpeter Stephan Stadtfeld leads the 15-member Large Ensemble and shares her curiosity about cross-genre projects. Together, musicians from the Berlin jazz scene and Konzerthaus Orchestra celebrate the tonal diversity and warmth of large band formations and the freedom of improvisation. A work by Cassie Kinoshi is being premiered.
In our series “Berlin — Music of the City in the Konzerthaus”, paths of musicians and ensembles from Berlin cross paths, who are eager to experiment with styles that all have a home in this city — from voguing to strings and synthesizers to jazz. Berlin Tracks wants to inspire, connect communities and invite them to follow different music tracks that together make up the soundtrack of our city.
