info
On the birth and decay of nature: Antonio Vivaldi's concert cycle The Four Seasons musically depicts the cycle of the year — with birds chirping, rumbling thunderstorms, dancing farmers, cheerful hunting parties and clinking frost. The work, which the Berlin Baroque soloists perform with First Concertmaster of the Berliner Philharmoniker Daishin Kashimoto as soloist, is one of the most popular Baroque compositions. But Vivaldi's contemporaries also created sparkling, enthralling music, as shown by the Concerti Grossi by Tartini, Telemann and Geminiani.
