Gustavo Dudamel conducts Mahler's Seventh
tickets
info
Gustavo Dudamel is one of the great Mahler conductors and has also repeatedly impressed the Berliner Philharmoniker with his passionate and precise interpretations of this music. He returns this season with Mahler's Seventh Symphony — a work that is remembered, among other things, for its atmospherically dense, shadowy night music. Gustavo Dudamel himself described the symphony as “cosmic” and as a “book of life”: “There is simply everything here: funeral music, sarcasm, grandeur, chaos, beauty.” The South American conductor even discovered tango sounds in the tremendous score.
