Gustavo Dudamel and Mitsuko Uchida
tickets
info
A very special premiere: Gustavo Dudamel, long-time artistic partner of the Berliner Philharmoniker, is in front of the orchestra for the first time as a Bruckner conductor — and chooses the Fourth Symphony, the “Romantic”. According to his own statement, Bruckner thought of the morning atmosphere in a medieval town, knights on their horses and the sound of the forest. This romantic sound painting also includes buttering hunting horns. Before that, we see Mitsuko Uchida, a grande dame of the piano, as soloist in Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 2: a work full of charm and youthful vigour.
