info
Two brave children who free themselves from the clutches of a witch through their own cleverness — Engelbert Humperdinck turned the popular fairy tale Hansel and Gretel into an opera that continues to enchant across generations. The mix of folk melodies and multi-faceted orchestral sound inspired by Richard Wagner is particularly unique. The colorful scenic performance is conducted by Kirill Petrenko. There is also the choir of vocal heroes. This comes from the Berliner Philharmoniker's education program, whose 25th anniversary we are celebrating this season.
