The work can be experienced with Yefim Bronfman, who is famous for this wide range of expressions. Shostakovich's Twelfth Symphony “The Year 1917” aims to set a musical monument to the Russian October Revolution: heroic gestures, dramatic impact and threatening drumbeats reminiscent of cannon shots give the work gripping drama.
