Pommernallee 2-4, 14052 Berlin, Berlin

Being on the theatre boards of the Republic for 25 years and having the seventh stage program in front of his chest poses a number of challenges for Bernhard Hoëcker. Bad statistics about previous appearances, audience figures, kilometers driven, etc., would be unworthy of his and all cold coffee. If he were to approach the matter purely numerically, he might stumble across seven as a lucky number or even across the seventh letter in the Hebrew alphabet. There, 7 is called Zajin, which means sword. This may mean that he is slowly getting closer to the matter, as Bernhard Hoëcker has been a pioneer of witty comedy since 2001.

About the event

BERLIN PREMIERE

He has now filtered all his previous programs and centrifuged them to a beekeeper while making honey, scrupulously checked the material like a cave climber while abseiling and, like a carpenter, used the finest grain for the final sanding. In doing so, he has worked out the essentials: the honey is pure, the rope is tip-top in order, the piece of wood a haptic highlight — and thus the seventh stage program is flawless and as authentic as possible.

Now it will be exciting to see what he remembers after a quarter of a century and whether he can really remember it all. Because remembering in old age is such a thing, which is why he himself remains curious to see whether he has remained young enough to do so. Be there when Bernhard Hoëcker adjusts his silver tiara, turns on the Merkturbo and celebrates 25 years on stage. Hot crap at most!
