Daniel did not hear his sixteen-year-old son Krzysztof leaving the house in the morning. He did not know what drew the boy to the bridge over the Vistula — he only knew that it was there that he had been seen for the last time. A CCTV camera caught him, and then, between one turn of hers and another, Krzysiek disappeared. The possibilities are two: either he jumped into the river, or he sneaked off the bridge.
Since then, Daniel and his wife Agnieszka have lived in a state of suspense: between desperate hope and paralyzing fear. Unable to wait passively for an increasingly unlikely breakthrough in the police investigation, Daniel builds a boat equipped with cameras and drones with the intention of exploring the dark depths of the river on his own. This is the beginning of a search that will consume him in its entirety. Day after day he combs the Vistula, constantly developing new tools and exploration techniques. Other families trapped in the same abyss of uncertainty and searching endlessly for answers begin to speak to him. The long lonely hours spent on the boat become a chance for Daniel to reckon with the life before Christopher disappeared. As the months go by, his pain only deepens; his father grapples with the constant tension between the relentless drive to search further and the painful reality in which an irreparable loss will change his life once and for all.
