At the center of Teresa Stasiak's painterly reflection is water. Not only as a landscape theme, but above all as a space of light, color and reflection. Its surface becomes a place of constant variation. What seems stable remains in constant motion. The artist's compositions are built from simplified, horizontal stripes evoking the structure of the landscape, while depriving it of a specific place. The horizon does not draw a clear boundary; on the contrary, it opens the space between what is recognizable and what tends towards abstraction. Of particular importance is light. It not only performs a descriptive function, but becomes one of the basic means of building an image. It breaks the form, shifts the accents, blurs the boundaries and leads the gaze beyond what is clearly depicted. “Boundless” can be read as an attempt to capture the state of suspension between surface and depth, presence and reflection, landscape and its memory. The images do not indicate concreteness
