About the event

LANDART - TAKE ROOT AND FEEL

Can the body become part of the landscape? Through movement, presence and action, are we able to find traces of memory written not only in ourselves, but also in the nature around us?

During the workshop we will seek answers to these questions, inspired by the work of Jury Shusta — an artist exploring the relationship between man, nature, memory and ritual. In his works, the forest becomes a space that stores stories, trees witnesses of time, and the processes that occur in nature a metaphor for human experience. As in Shusta's art, we will treat our own body as a research tool, creative material and a medium to build meanings beyond words.

During the course, we will free the body and mind from everyday tensions, develop imagination and discover how movement and presence can tell about a person's relationship with the environment. Inspired by the natural processes of growth, regeneration, transformation and duration, we will create performative activities that draw on the observation of nature and our own experiences. We will look at how memory can be stored in the body, as well as how nature becomes the carrier of history, emotions and memories.

Through individual and group exercises we will explore the concepts of rooting, movement, cyclicity and coexistence of man with other forms of life. We will examine how much we can trust ourselves, others and the space around us, as well as how to use silence, gesture, rhythm and movement as means of artistic expression.

The culmination of the workshop will be the creation of original performative activities inspired by the themes present in the work of the Shusta Jury. Together, we will look for ways to tell stories rooted in memory, nature and personal experience through body, movement and action, discovering the creative potential that lies within each of us.
