Alex was supposed to spend a romantic weekend with her boyfriend in the forests of British Columbia. Instead, a joint trip quickly turns into a festival of grievances, and the girl is left alone in the middle of the forest wilderness. Then he meets the charismatic Kianna and her partner Matt. At first they seem liberated, sympathetic and willing to help, but it quickly turns out that these are just appearances. The couple is wanted by the police and their relationship becomes increasingly toxic and disturbing. “Safe Distance” is a psychological thriller in which the tension grows with each subsequent scene, and with Alex it becomes increasingly difficult to predict where the next threat will come from.
