The library (is) checking

The Municipal Public Library in Jastrzębia-Zdrój invites you on 16 October 2026 at 17:00 to the Main Library at ul. Wielkopolska 1a for a unique evening full of meetings, talks, literature, art and biography.

This year's slogan “The library (checks itself)” perfectly reflects the nature of the event. Because the library is not just books and shelves. It is above all people, stories, curiosity about the world and space to meet.

IN THE PROGRAM:

17:00 | Workshop on sewing toys EKOZABAWKA — a creative meeting in the spirit of reuse of materials.

17:00 | EKOTORBA art workshops, during which an ordinary bag will become a unique, hand-decorated object.

17:00 | LIVING LIBRARY Man becomes a book and conversation becomes a reading.

The Living Library is a unique opportunity to meet people who, through their experiences, interests and life stories, allow them to look at the world from a different perspective. You can “rent” the chosen person, ask questions, listen and just talk.

18:00 | YOUNG POLAND IN BIOGRAPHY Author's meeting with Monika Śliwińska about unusual characters, the era of Young Poland and history, which can be discovered through the fate of specific people.

19:00 | CITY, MEMORY, BIOGRAPHY Author's meeting with Grzegorz Piątek about the city as a space of human histories, about memory, places and biographies that intertwine with the history of the city.

One evening. A lot of stories. Lots of reasons to meet at the library. We invite everyone who likes to talk, listen, get to know, create and discover the library from a slightly different side.

Come and see how much can happen in the library after dark.
