“Feast of 602” Bi-Ba-Bo Cabaret

We invite you to the event “Feast on 602" — a performance of the Bi-Ba-Bo Cabaret, which will be performed at MSK: Widzew Wschód — Culture House 502 (Sacharowa Street 18 in Łódź) on October 9 (Friday) at 18:00.

The performance “Feast on 602" consists of more than 20 songs with new, current, usually funny, but also lyrical lyrics to the melody of popular feast songs. The reason for the feast is the 602nd anniversary of the granting of the city rights to Łódź, because it was on the 602nd birthday of Łódź that the premiere of this performance took place. Therefore, it will not lack poems and farces about Łódź. There will also be dancing, live music and lots of humor. For the abbreviation of this show, the cabaret won the second prize at the Voivodship Review of Senior Cabarets, organized last year by the Lodz House of Culture.

The author of the play, which will present the Bi-Ba-Bo Cabaret, is Paweł Padora.

Bi-Ba-Bo is the oldest cabaret for seniors in Łódź — next year it will celebrate its 55th anniversary. The band operates at the House of Literature, and its name refers to the cabaret of the same name existing in the interwar period. Bi-Ba-Bo — these are the origins of the names of three Łódź industrialists — sponsors of that cabaret.

The Bi-Ba-Bo cabaret was founded in 1972. The creator and first artistic director of “Bi-Ba-Bo” was Wiesław Szczotkowski, then Tadeusz Pliszkiewicz took over the artistic supervision of the ensemble and gave it the profile of a musical cabaret. Currently, the head of the team, the author of the texts and scripts of the cabaret performances is a well-known journalist and publicist from Łódź, Paweł Padora. The musical director and accompanist since autumn 2001 is Włodzimierz Rucz. The ensemble of performers is made up of theater, music and singing enthusiasts of senior age. The cabaret participates in regional and national reviews, being repeatedly awarded for its artistic level. He also presented his programs in Russia, the Czech Republic, Lithuania and Belarus.
