Nowodworski Ośrodek Kultury invites you to another musical meeting as part of the Feast of Singing Nations! This time we will take you on an extraordinary journey through the sounds and rhythms of the Middle East, Africa and Europe. And all thanks to a unique artist — Rasm Almashan, a Polish-Yemeni singer, songwriter and composer.
Rasm Almashan was born in Krakow, but grew up in Aden, Yemen, where from an early age she was surrounded by traditional Arabic melodies and East African rhythms. Today, he combines these musical inspirations with jazz, improvisation and contemporary sounds, creating his own unique style.
Her deep, moving voice carries stories of love, longing for the homeland, human destinies, peace and hope. It is music that knows no boundaries, unites cultures and reminds us of what unites us all — humanity.
The debut album “Yemenia” remained in the top twenty of the prestigious World Music Charts Europe for three months. Rasm is currently working on another album — “Insaniya” (Humanity).
During the concert, the artist will be accompanied by excellent musicians of the Polish jazz and ethno scene:
Rasm Almashan — vocals
Adam Lemańczyk — piano, keyboards
Adeb Chamoun — rig, darabuka, bendir, daf
Maciek Szczyciński — bass
Mateusz Szemraj — oud, guitar
Paweł Dobrowolski — drums
