ul. Jezuicka 18, Lublin

Hardworking, creative, educated, affectionate. She wrote reviews, articles, theater scripts for youth. She helped children from the poorest families. Why have biographers of Witold Gombrowicz, her younger brother, ignored her so far? What made the author of “Ferdydurke”, the book that came into existence thanks to Irene, rarely mention his sister, and if anything, not very flatteringly? Will Irena Gombrowicz take her rightful place in history?
