This October we celebrate Black History Month through the stories, voices, and histories connected to our collection.
Discover Perseus and Andromeda, one of Titian's large mythological paintings commissioned by King Philip II of Spain, in this 15-minute talk. Discover the Greek myth behind the painting and explore how ideals of beauty and race have influenced Titian's depiction of Andromeda, shaping how the myth has been understood from the sixteenth century to today.
Places are limited and allocated first-come, first-served on the day.
