Songs of Gold and Mist

A little funny, a little serious, a little spicy, with a little touch of melancholy, a little ironic and slightly salty with tears — a concert and at the same time a recipe for a successful evening.

Songs from Gold and Fog are primarily original songs by Blanka Lea Dembosz, arranged by Kateryna Ziabliuk, Szymon Wojnarowicz, Krzysztof Mysona, and selected compositions by Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski and Andrzej Kurylewicz to the lyrics of Agnieszka Osiecka.

This year (90th anniversary of Agnieszka Osiecka's birth) we would like to recall the work of this extraordinary writer and play her lesser-known works in unobvious and original arrangements by Kateryna Ziabliuk and Krzysztof Mysona.

The compositions tell about the joy and beauty of life, the seasons, the passing away, they also talk about metaphysical longings, fears, disappointments, about cooking and preparing for life changes, about wildflowers and potted plants, finally about the loves of dreams, dreams, true and unfulfilled, those that last and those that have passed away, and Also for those who are yet to come...

Songs of gold and fog are warm tones enchanted in the music, melodies with a slight hint of melancholy and amber light.

Blanka Lea Dembosz is a vocalist, classically educated singer, improviser, performer, screenwriter, director and poet. Born in Krakow, she graduated in Polish philology at the Jagiellonian University in 2002 and solo singing at the Academy of Music in Poznań in the class of Prof. Ewa Wdowicka in 2009. For many years she trained her voice with Professor Robert Nakoneczny. She is the winner of the 3rd prize at the International Vocal Competition Iuventus Canti 2009 (Vrable, Slovakia). Scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage “Scholarship in the network” (2020). It has in its repertoire music of different eras, from the Middle Ages to contemporary works. She is the founder of the College of Evangelical Music, where she sings and directs. She performed with the improvised music band Kakofonikt and since then she has been improvising wherever possible. She tries her hand at composing by creating electroacoustic music, which she loves, because there are no limitations in it (her works were performed during the “Krakow Poetry Nights” in 2018, 2019 and 2020, during the “Song of the Book” concert in September 2020, as well as during the “Book that Connects” festival in Żyrardów in September 2021) She co-creates and organizes festivals (including artistic director of the 2nd Ecumenical Festival of Christian Music and Art in Nowy Sącz in 2020, artistic director of the “Book that Connects” festival in Żyrardów in 2021, artistic director of the festival “Juxta crucem”, artistic director of the festival “In the Shadow of the Sacred — Days Kultury Biblijnej” in Radom (2022, 2023), co-organizer and artistic director of the “Via Sacra” Festival in Jaworz in 2023, is the artistic director of Grudziądz Music Festival at St. John's (since 2023).
