What makes a song stay with us longer, resonating in the head for days? Often it's not just a matter of catchy melody, but that specific, hard-to-fake thrill of authenticity. At a time when alternative music is sometimes too overcombined, artists appear on the Polish scene who can combine vintage style with an absolutely modern sensibility. Not long before the Wrocław audience will perform Blauka — a band that proves that Polish alt-pop is doing better than ever.
Blauka is not another one-dimensional project. This is a Warsaw-based creative collective headed by charismatic singer and songwriter Georgina Tarasiuk and music producer and bassist Piotr Lewańczyk. On stage, this producer duo turns into a full-blooded, concert organism, supported by great instrumentalists: guitarist Michał Gołąbek and drummer Dominik Ossowski.
Their consistently developed sound and uncompromising authenticity quickly made the band a big name for themselves. The milestone turned out to be May 2025, when their second studio album entitled “Wolta” saw the light of day. The album received excellent reviews, and the band itself received a prestigious nomination for Amber Słowiek at the Sopot festival. Not surprisingly, Blauka perfectly knows how to balance between alternative and radio hit, without losing a single gram of her identity.
The strongest foundation of Blauka's work is its lyrical layer. In times dominated by repetitive, English-language phrases, the band focuses on intimate texts in Polish. Georgina Tarasiuk speaks with rare lightness about difficult and universal things at the same time, making the listener find himself in these stories without difficulty.
Musically, it is a sensual tangent point between several worlds. Here you will find indie rock, soft rock from the 70s and the melodiousness of modern alternative pop. This fusion makes their work extremely plastic. Live, these songs take on an extra dimension. They become an intimate conversation in which melancholy blends seamlessly with uplifting energy.
The experience Blauka offers, however, goes far beyond the sounds themselves. From the very beginning, the band attaches great importance to the visual sphere, building a nostalgic and somewhat surreal world around their music. Their music videos are small works of film art. They have been noticed and appreciated at international film festivals in such remote corners of the world as the USA, Colombia, Germany, Italy or Romania.
When you go to a concert in Wroclaw, you can expect that this cinematic atmosphere and attention to detail will also transfer to the stage. It will be an evening in which the aesthetics of sound will meet the magnetic stage personality of the musicians. Allow yourself this musical volta, disconnect for a moment from reality and let yourself be drawn into the world of Blauka.
