The Flea is hosting a new international festival dedicated to the psych, shoegaze and post-punk scene to see the light of day in Copenhagen in March 2027. The full line-up will be announced on September 22nd!

BLAZE will take place over two evenings at Loppen in Christiania on March 5 and 6, 2027 and will bring together both new names and established artists from the international underground. The festival has been created by Copenhagen-based Epic Noise International with the ambition to create a new Scandinavian venue for artists, audiences and the independent music industry. BLAZE is about bringing together exceptional artists, but also about everything that can arise

around the two evenings: New audiences, new relationships, new routes and new opportunities.

LINE UP

THE KVB (UK)

Since the early 2010s, the British duo The KVB have created their own hypnotic world at the intersection of post-punk, shoegaze, darkwave, psychedelia and electronic music. Nicholas Wood's reverb-saturated guitars and vocals meet Kat Day's synthesizers, visual universe and mechanical rhythms in a soundscape that is both dark, minimalist and cinematic. From early cassette and vinyl releases to an extensive international touring life, The KVB has evolved into a distinctive name on the European alternative scene. The music moves effortlessly between noisy guitar surfaces, cool electronics and pulsating beats. The KVB headliner the first night at BLAZE 2027.

WINONA RIDERS (S)

Winona Riders hails from the western part of Buenos Aires and, since forming in 2018, have established themselves as one of the most explosive voices on the emerging Argentine rock scene. The band's music blends psych, krautrock, noise, proto-punk and electronic elements in an intense and uncompromising expression where repetition, noise and rhythm are propelled by an almost physical energy. The live format is central to Winona Riders' identity, and the band has built its audience through an insistent concert activity both in Argentina and internationally.

After several albums, tours in Latin America and Europe, as well as appearances at Primavera Sound and Lollapalooza, among others, Winona Riders have moved far beyond the Argentine underground. In 2026, the band released their fifth studio album, 0%, continuing their restless exploration of psych rock, noise, punk attitude and electronic textures. Winona Riders headliner second night at BLAZE 2027.

MAQUINA. (PT)

The Lisbon trio MAQUINA. works in an uncompromising field of tension between krautrock, industrial noise, techno, punk and experimental rock. Formed in 2021 around Hallison Peres, Tomás Brito and João Cavalheiro, the band builds its music around repetition: insistent bass, hard-hitting drums, manipulated guitars and rhythms that can feel as native on a dark dance floor as in front of a massive guitar amp.

In just a few years, MAQUINA. has made its mark far outside Portugal with European tours, festival appearances and concerts with, among others, A Place To Bury Strangers. Their international breakthrough has been further cemented through the Fuzz Club and a live session at KEXP. It's music made to be experienced physically: Repetitive, raw, hypnotic and inexorably forward.

CLUSTERSUN (IT)

From Catania in Sicily, CLUSTERSUN comes with a massive mix of shoegaze, psych, post- punk and dreamy tunes.

Since the band's inception in 2013, they have developed a distinctive soundscape built of monumental guitar surfaces, fuzz, reverb, analog synthesizers and hypnotic rhythms. Beneath the noise lies a melodic and melancholic core, drawing connections to both the classic sound of shoegaze and a darker, more cosmic form of psych. Their debut album Out Of Your Ego was released in 2014, followed by Surfacing To Breathe in 2017 and Avalanche in 2021. Over the years, CLUSTERSUN have forged their own place in the European psych and shoegaze underground with music that balances dream and noise, fragility and massive sound.

GOLDEN HOURS (FR/BE)

Operating between Berlin and Brussels, the Golden Hours are made up of musicians with a remarkable shared history. The band's members have previously or concurrently played with names such as Gang Of Four, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Tricky and The Fuzztones. But Golden Hours is far more than the sum of its members' pasts. The band creates dark, intense and hypnotic post-punk, where fuzz-saturated double guitars, a heavy rhythm section, noise and strong melodies collide in a restless rock'n'roll expression.

Following the self-titled debut in 2023, in 2026, Golden Hours released their second album, Beyond Wires, on Fuzz Club Records. Written and recorded between rehearsal rooms in Berlin and an old house in Brussels, the album continues the band's blend of raw post-punk, psychedelic noise and melodic darkness. Golden Hours comes to BLAZE with plenty of miles behind them, but with a band that still sounds like something moving forward.

MAYFLOWER MADAME (NO)

Oslo band Mayflower Madame moves through a dark and alluring landscape of post- punk, shoegaze and psych.

Their music is characterized by hypnotic rhythms, hazy guitars, dark melodies and a cool, cinematic atmosphere where psychedelic rock meets post-punk's more somber sides. The result is both dreamy and unsettling. Music that slowly draws the listener further into his own universe.

Since her debut album Observed in a Dream, Mayflower Madame has built an international audience through multiple releases and extensive touring activity in Europe and North America. With the album Insight, the band continues to refine their distinctive blend of noise, melancholy, psychedelia and dark romance. As BLAZE 2027's Norwegian contribution, Mayflower Madame also creates a natural connection between the festival's international outlook and the Scandinavian underground.
