Bloody Weekend 2026 - Nightborn

With Hatching from 2022, Finnish Hanna Bergholm has shown that she is good for peculiar folk horror with peculiar creatures. Now she's back with Nightborn, where two newly baked parents get a different delivery from the stork than they bargained for.
Saga and Jon have bought Saga's family's dilapidated cottage deep in the Finnish forest to raise an extended family in close contact with nature. Now they only need one child to complete the idyll, but the little creature that comes into the world is not only monstrously furred, but also hostile, seemingly allergic to sunshine -- and why does it refuse to drink breast milk?
Motherhood is a horror film in its own right, Nightborn insists, while child screams invade the land of the Thousand Lakes. Watch it without the kids!
