Antonioni's iconic thriller and Cannes winner tells the story of a nihilistic fashion photographer in 1960s Swinging London. Sex, drugs -- and, not least, fashion -- are beginning to bore the successful camera equilibrate. One day, he follows a couple of girlfriends in a park, and when he subsequently evokes his images, he is certain that he has witnessed a murder. Jane Birkin is a scoop as a young, loose-limbed model in thigh-short and with period bangs, and a young Herbie Hancock is behind the film's soundtrack.
