It all started in November last year. The idea was born during meetings within the framework of the project “Social Navigator”. In the beginning, there were only a few people, about ten. Later, the group began to grow a little spontaneously, a little imperceptibly.

Today, about forty people are enrolled in the painting group, who regularly meet in Grażyna Kozioł's small studio in Zagórzyce Dworskie to “live creatively”.

This exhibition is a presentation of paintings that were created during the first year of joint painting.

At first, many of them said: “I don't know how to paint”, “I've never done it”, “I'm sure it won't work out for me.” Over time, fear gave way to the joy of creation. Each meeting brought new experiences and increased courage to trust one's own imagination.

A lot of work has been done this year. For the exhibition, the participants chose those paintings that they considered their best. Because painting them is not just painting. It's conversations, laughter, sometimes sharing important stories and experiences, and most of all, mutual support.

From a group of people who were initially united simply by the idea of painting together, a community was formed. They feel good about each other.

The host of our meetings — Grażyna Kozioł — is an amateur who has been painting for more than twenty years. She herself began painting years ago to fulfill her dreams from her youth. Today she watches with great joy how others discover in themselves the same need to create, how they overcome their own fears and how much joy painting gives them.

And I guess that's what this is all about.

It's not about being a professional painter. It's not about painting the perfect picture. Just to give it a try. Stop for a moment. Meet the other man. And to discover that perhaps there is a little artist living in each of us.

We cordially invite you!

Admission is free.
