PHANTOM PAINS is the first monodrama by Dominika Feiglewicz-Penarska, based on the true story of Magdalena Sipowicz, who as a passenger survived the railway accident near Szzczekociny in 2012. As a result of this tragic accident, Magdalena suffered serious injuries and her right leg was amputated. Based on many hours of conversations with Magdalena, Paweł Feiglewicz-Penarski created a text about pain that cannot be seen. The body he remembers. About the soul that travels. About understanding and finding yourself.
Magdalena is a sign language interpreter, crisis consultant and motivator — a bridge between people, their emotions and their stories. Now it is her own personal story that becomes a voice on stage. In the voice of a woman who has lived a lot and has dared to speak about what is usually left unspoken.
It is a story about a woman who has been ground up and floated to life anew — a life with burning, crushing, burning pain.
The play was created as part of the OFF Polska program organized by the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute. Co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage
