Ivan Menchell, Don Black, Frank Wildhorn BONNIE & CLYDE musical in 2 acts
A show for viewers over 13 years old.
The 30s of the last century. The biggest economic crisis in US history. Mass layoffs, a wave of suicides, no earning opportunities. This is not the time for dreamers. In principle, this is not a time for anyone, but after all, in every era there will be someone who wants to turn his life into a film frame.
Bonnie & Clyde — the most electrifying criminal couple in history, and at the same time an example of storytelling in the best cinematic sagas. Their life was like a novel in episodes. It is difficult to say which chapters really happened and which ones they wrote to gain brilliance. Always stylish and daring, their every headline attracted clickbait like today. They raided, stole, robbed, and tens of thousands of people came to their funerals anyway. Rebels? Rebels? Celebrities! They knew what to weave their own American dream out of.
Bonnie has always dreamed of fame. Everyday life in a dead hole was not for her. She saw herself in diamonds, on the silver screen. Fate wanted her to meet a boyfriend with a vision of making a fortune and spitting the system in the face. She is arrogant, with an innocent smile, he with a twinkle in his eye and audacity in his blood. Cast roles, the first reportage-gangster love story in history, on the Bonnie & Clyde poster.
They didn't plan to hurt anyone — they just wanted to breathe their full breasts, love each other and conquer the world. But the world didn't want to give them too much. So they took what was rightfully theirs by force. And that the light of the headlights fell on their faces just then? Well. Brutal is a game.
They say fame is like a drug, and the two didn't want to hide in the shadows for nothing—they felt they were really only alive when every state looked at them.
Bonnie and Clyde's story was supposed to be different than any other. And she was.
Surprisingly, it really happened.
