Some musicians age with dignity by becoming quieter. They choose to retreat into the acoustic, slow down the tempo and look at their own work as they age. And then there's Brian Fallon. The frontman of punk rock institution The Gaslight Anthem does exactly the opposite on his fifth solo album “Not Bad for New Jersey”: He turns up the amps. Fallon is celebrating the return to the impetuous romance of the rock songs that shaped him as a teenager. It is an homage to irrationality and to characters who risk too much and love unconditionally. Musically, this is reflected in a fast-paced mix of PowerPop and Heartland Rock. Produced by Butch Walker and mostly recorded live near Nashville, the record refuses any cynical clarification. Instead, pure, raw energy reigns supreme, supported by top-class guests such as Brandon Flowers (The Killers) or Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen. This uncompromising passion

About the event

This uncompromising passion unfolds its true power where Fallon's music has always been at home: on stage. For the songwriter from New Jersey, live concerts are not just a compulsory exercise, but the actual center of his work. When Fallon appears in front of the audience with his rubbing voice, the dynamics of the live recordings are transferred directly into the auditorium. His tours thrive on this collective moment of escape, in which the line between band and audience disappears. It is about experiencing songs together that tell of failure and recovery, hymns for outsiders who continue despite all setbacks. On stage, this shared melancholy becomes a celebratory euphoria. The album perfectly reflects this live energy. The massive title song looks back on one's own survival almost in disbelief, while the “Love at the End of the World” written with Brandon Flowers is completely without a refrain and develops a hypnotic urgency. Even a fast-paced punk song about Ramones bassist Dee Dee Ramone fits seamlessly into the image of an artist who would rather fail at full throttle than play it safe. In his lyrics, Fallon deliberately searches for the stories of those who do not triumph in the end, but have tried their hand at it with burning passion. If you want to experience this untamed dedication for yourself, you don't have to wait much longer. Brian Fallon is coming to Germany for four exclusive concerts in autumn 2026.
