Hear expressive arrangements of solo sonatas from one of the greatest composers of the Baroque era, presented alongside works with strong connections to the RCM.
Bridge dedicated his Three Idylls to Ethel Elmore Sinclair, his future wife, whom he met while they both performed in the Royal College of Music Symphony Orchestra. Inspired by the second Idyll, his most notable pupil and fellow RCM alumnus, Benjamin Britten, later wrote and dedicated his Variations to Bridge.
In this performance, the Quartet is joined by RCM string players for a dazzling rendition that hints at the personality of Britten’s mentor.
Learn more about the process behind the performance in a masterclass with the Brodksy Quartet on Thursday 5 November.
