Meeting with the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Karol Kurpiński is a unique opportunity to discover two different and at the same time perfectly complementary musical worlds.

The evening will be opened by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Symphony No. 36 KV 425 (“Linzka”) in C major. It was composed in just a few days during the composer's stay in Linz in 1783 and is one of the greatest achievements of his symphonic work. The monumental introduction, the energetic Allegro, the lyrical free parts and the brilliant finale make it a work full of classical balance, grace and orchestral virtuosity.

On the other hand, Polish music is represented by two works by Karol Kurpiński, one of the most outstanding composers of the first half of the 19th century and creator of the pre-moniuszko Polish national opera. The clarinet concerto in B major impresses with the singing of the melody, the spectacular solo part and the classical elegance of the form. It is one of the most valuable Polish concert works for clarinet, showing both the lyrical and virtuoso side of the instrument. The overture to the opera Castle in Czorsztyn will be completed, full of drama, memorable themes, humor and exuberant energy, perfectly reflecting the theatrical talent of the outstanding Polish composer.

The concert will culminate in one of the most beautiful works in the history of music — Mozart's Clarinet Concerto in A major KV 622. Written in the last year of the composer's life for the friendly instrumentalist Anton Stadler, it remains to this day the most important position in the repertoire of any clarinetist. The piece captivates with extraordinary subtlety, lyricism and clarity of the dialogue between the soloist and the orchestra. The particularly moving second part — the Adagio — is one of the most touching cards of classical music.
