Ugly Duckling

The egg itself was suspicious. Larger than others and less likely to crack. When a chick finally hatches from it, it does not resemble its siblings or mother in appearance. His inner world is also different - it is much richer than the gray reality of the wetlands, which is complemented by cruel comments and gestures of animals unable to accept otherness. But does “other” really mean ugly and unworthy of friendship? Ugly Duckling wants to feel important and needed. But it seems that only Nature is able to accept it unconditionally and treat it as an unusual and important piece of its magical puzzle. It is she who becomes the guide of the Duckling on his path to self-acceptance and happiness, where a meeting with suspicious lizards, a spaceship trip and much more awaits him.

The play “Ugly Duckling” is a poetic story about tolerance and acceptance of oneself and others. The story is set in a plastic world full of bird feathers, enveloped in music inspired by the sounds of Nature and “The Four Seasons” by A. Vivaldi.
