The series of events at the Kunstbibliothek Buchsalon is all about the book. Maren Wienigk, curator of the Architecture and Ornament Collection, and Michael Lailach, curator of the Book Art Collection, talk to their guests about new and old books.

Thirteenth guest: Artist Daniela Comani makes us stumble into our viewing habits and everyday assumptions. With typographical precision and attention to detail, she manipulates canonical book titles, for example, and uses “gendering” as an artistic strategy. Her series are often published as artist books, which she conceives and designs herself and which deal with history, language and identity. We talk to her about role models, stereotypes, canon formation, power relations and visibility, including and especially in the history of literature.
