Great drama: The National Youth Orchestra with Wagner and Berlioz
tickets
Invited by the Berliner Philharmoniker
info
Love pain, a magnificent ball, a rural idyll, going to the scaffold and a witches' sabbath: In his Symphonie fantastique, Hector Berlioz presents a great musical drama full of delicate, iridescent and grotesque timbres. His virtuoso treatment of the orchestra also inspired Richard Wagner, whose Wesendonck songs are considered a preliminary study for the opera Tristan und Isolde. During the Berlin guest performance, the National Youth Orchestra, in which Germany's most talented young musicians between the ages of 14 and 19 play, performs both works.
