Butterfly in the Land of Shadows

A touching story of love, hope and destiny, told through opera singing, shadow theater and dance. Inspired by Giacomo Puccini's opera Madame Butterfly, the story takes viewers to faraway Japan, where the butterfly-tender Cio-Cio-San falls in love with the American sailor Pinkerton. This unique artistic project, based on the concept of Monika Rokicka and Anna Hop, is an innovative adaptation of Giacomo Puccini's classic opera, which, by combining music, subtle visuals, beautiful costumes by Maciej Zienia and symbolic dance, introduces young viewers to the world of opera in an accessible and engaging form. It is also a story of growing up and dreams that give you the courage to spread your wings.

The performance is realized with the participation of artists of the younger generation: soloists of the Opera Academy program, dancers and talented creators of musical, theatrical and visual arts.
