To be like a tailor

The Ludwik Solski Theatre in Tarnów is preparing the premiere of “Be jak Krawczyk” by Łukasz Fijal, based on the book “Życie jak wino” by Krzysztof Krawczyk and Andrzej Kosmala.

Premiere scheduled for October 17, 2026 on the Small Stage.

Krzysztof Krawczyk in one of his interviews said:

I see my life as a set of chaotic scenes, often not succeeding one another. Joyful and tragic, and what is important, each has a certain color tone, the mood of the sun, rain, snow, frost, but also the noise of the ocean among the palm trees. And most importantly — the taste and smell.

Our show shows the most colorful moments of the artist's life. It is not a purely biographical show, but rather focuses on the emotions that Krzysztof Krawczyk experienced and aroused in others.

The script consists of more than a dozen songs, and the whole thing is interspersed with dialogues and monologues that were uttered or recorded by the artist himself. Krawczyk spoke a lot and honestly about faith, art, women, travel, dreams, stimulants, ups and downs. With equal openness, he described his great successes as well as his professional and private failures. In our performance we tell about feelings with music, words, space and costumes, as the show is divided into seven episodes. We talk about a singing career, a stay in the USA, a car accident, subsequent marriages, poetry, passing away, a look into the untold past. When choosing songs, we went for hits like “My Friend “or “It's Hard So “, but we also chose lesser-known songs like “Drowned in a Dream”.

When choosing the title, we decided on: “To be like Krawczyk”. Knowing the life and works of the artist, a subtitle came to mind. “To be like Krawczyk” means to “climb to the top with humility.” Tomasz Wiśniewski performs on stage, plays Piotr Niedojadło on the instruments, who will also play supporting acting roles. At the beginning of the performance, the curtain will unfold, then another and another, after all, “life is a set of chaotic scenes”.

During the performance, stage smoke is used.
