Full-day art workshop

Each meeting combines two fields of art. We check what will happen when the image meets the sound, the drawing will merge with the machine, and the jewelry will create the graphics. All in a calm, all-day rhythm - with time for creation, conversation, dinner and coffee together.

When: Meetings once a month, on one weekend day, from 12:00 to 18:00.

For whom: For creative people or who want to try their hand at creating, interesting new forms of expression, looking for surprising connections.

Conducted by: Adam Olczak-Lipman - Artist - painter and graphic artist, master of art, chairman of the LAAF Association - Lodz Abstract Art Festival. His work is dominated by abstract forms, in which he combines emotions with the analysis of the form of the work.

MEETING THE ANIMATION WITH THE OBJECT

Special Guest: Izumi Yoshida

First we will create short animations using our mobile phones. Next, we will look for unusual surfaces for them and objects on which we will display them. We will examine how the shape and texture of an object affect the perception of a moving image. Finally, we will create a common installation combining animation and objects.

MEETING OF SMELL WITH SPACE

Special guest: Magda Milewska

Workshop on the smell of the future. What will the world smell like that we don't know yet? Together we will move beyond the known to design the space and fragrance of the future world. Will the future smell of nature, technology, metal, rain, or maybe something we can't name yet? We will create our own visions of the future and then translate them into the language of fragrance. We will experiment, compose and look for an answer to the question of how you can tell about the future with the help of smell. You don't need to be familiar with perfume or design - all you need is curiosity and openness to experiment. Come and design the fragrance of the world that is yet to come.

SCULPTURE MEETING WITH COLLAGE

We will start by selecting from our phones an interesting set of photographs. We will consider what emotional overtones it evokes in us and how to transfer these emotions into a sculptural form. Next, we will create a three-dimensional collage using the resulting object.

JEWELRY MEETING WITH GRAPHICS

Special guest: Katarzyna Koła, Communication Department of the Museum of Art in Łódź

We will design and make our own signets, experimenting with their form and pattern. Then we will reflect them on paper, checking how the spatial form of the jewelry turns into graphics. At the end, each participant will come out with a series of graphics and a matrix in the form of jewelry.

MEETING THE DRAWING WITH THE MACHINE

We will start by seeing what are the possibilities and limitations of our body when drawing. Next, we will create a machine that will allow us to go beyond these limitations and make marks that we ourselves are not able to draw. Finally, a series of drawings will be created showing the differences between the action of the body and the machine.

BOOK MEETING WITH MUSIC

Special guest: Malina Midera

The meeting will be participatory. We will start with the creation of a common art book, consisting of abstract forms made in the technique of linocut. The resulting book will become our score, and its reading will be guided by Malin Mider. You will end the class with your own copy of the book and the experience of playing together.

MEETING OF PAINTING WITH FILM

At the beginning of the meeting, we will go for a joint walk around the museum area and film what will catch our attention. Then we will return to the studio, where the recordings will become the starting point for painting. Finally, we will combine the images and videos into a common installation, with which you will end the meeting.
